Birdy fit and raring to go to keep City front men on their toes (26/6/07)
Martin Paul is fit and raring to go for the forthcoming Blue Square Conference South season and looking to keep the pressure on City's other four strikers. The 32-year old, who has now scored well over 100 goals in City colours, turned down a contract offer at the end of last season, after he played a vital part in the club's title winning run-in. However, after keeping himself fully fit over the summer he has agreed to return for pre-season training and look to provide City with even greater depth up-front, with Scott Partridge, Darren Edwards, Phil Walsh and, new signing, Dave Gilroy already giving them a strong looking forward line.
The 2007-08 Blue Square Conference South fixtures are due to be released at 10am on Tuesday 3rd July and will appear on this web site by early evening.
Final player added to pre-season trialists on recomendation of ex-star Jono (24/6/07)
City boss John Relish had added a final player to his pre-season trialists with an invite to former Swindon Town midfielder Justin McKay. The 20-year old, who was recommended by ex-Twerton Park favourite Jon Holloway, joins Jason Wood, Ben Davies and Paul Keddle in attempting to earn a place in City's 2007-08 Blue Square Conference South squad. Left-sided midfielder McKay joined Swindon Town as a schoolboy and progressed to their reserve ranks, before switching into non-league with Basingstoke Town, Farnborough Town and Swindon Supermarine.
City look to future with appointment of community officer (23/6/07)
City have appointed a community enterprise officer, Paul Gillings. Mr Gillings, a qualified FA coach, is currently a mature student taking a football studies degree at Southampton University and will take responsibility to build links with supporters and help drive ideas forward. Further tasks of the role, which will be funded by the City Supporters Society, include attracting more members to the City Sweep, a weekly lottery which raises cash for the club and local charities, and promoting bookings for the club's bars, Charlie's and Randall's. He is also involved in launching new community initiatives such as coaching sessions in and around Twerton, after-school clubs and football projects for local schools. As part of this aim the club has extended the hand of friendship to the youth team, Avon Arsenal, which will now play under the mantle of Bath City Youth.
Partridge looking forward to new season following neck op success (22/6/07)
Scott Partridge looks set to be fit for the start of the 2007-08 season following his successful neck operation. The striker had an artifical disc inserted into his neck last week to correct a prolasped disc problem that he suffered in February. The injury ruled him out for the last two months of the season and he was initially advised that he'd require an operation to fuse two disc together, which would have sidelined him for over three months. However, the less invasive procedure should see last season's top scorer with 18 goals available when pre-season training begins in a couple of weeks.
Last season's loan striker Matt Prosser has joined British Gas Business League Premier Division side Yate Town after being released by Newport County.
City announce Bath FM as official radio partner (22/6/07)

Live TV coverage possible reward for Setanta Shield progress (12/6/07)
City will enter the newly formed Setanta Shield next season with the possibilty of live TV coverage should they reach the latter stages of the competition. Blue Square North and South sides will face each other until eight remain, who will then be joined by the 24 Blue Square Premier clubs. The Irish-based broadcaster has pledged to screen nine of these latter stage games as part of their package covering over 60 non-league matches. The games will be shown on the subscription channel every Thursday night with a handful taking place on other days. Should City reach the televised stage it could see them feature live on TV for the second time in their history. Their one and only previous live appearance took place on Sunday 5 December 1993 when Sky Sports covered their 2nd Round FA Cup meeting with Hereford United, which City won 2-1 through goals from Nicky Brooks and a wonder strike by Paul Batty.
City's 2007-08 Blue Square South season will start on Saturday 11 August 2007 and, not allowing for any potential play-off games, finish on Saturday 3 May 2008.

The draw was the third time lucky for the pair after they had come 2nd and 3rd in previous years. City target ex-Martyr Keddle to fill left-side gap (9/6/07)
Former Merthyr Tydfil defender Paul Keddle will join City for pre-season training as they look to the Welsh non-league international to strengthen their left side. The 23-year old switched to Carmarthen Town last season after four years with the Penydarren Park side and despite interest from the current Welsh Cup holders plus several other Welsh League sides, including full-time Llanelli, he has agreed to team up with City when they return to training at the start of July and then decide whether to commit himself to the club.
One player who now doesn't look as if he will take part in City's pre-season campaign is former Newport County midfielder Tyronne Toppar after he was offered a full-time contract with Welsh Premier Division side Llanelli.
