Report taken from

Zak Evans’ second-half strike clinched Bath City a memorable draw against Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City as they continued their pre-season preparations at Twerton Park. Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Cardiff side were in the ascendancy for long periods and Bath goalkeeper Jason Mellor had to be at his best to keep the Bluebirds at bay. The home side also enjoyed good spells of their own and Andy Watkins and Dave Pratt both had chances to break the deadlock. Cardiff changed all ten outfield players at the interval and continued to fashion a number of opportunities before they opened the scoring midway through the second half when Mellor was beaten by Jo Inge Berget’s low shot. Despite making several changes themselves, Bath continued to threaten and grabbed a share of the spoils with 11 minutes left. Chas Hemmings outmuscled his marker to pull the ball back to Jordan Ricketts and his cross was fired into the roof of the net by ex-Cardiff trainee Evans. Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages but neither was able to find a way through. Bath continue their summer friendly programme on Tuesday night when a Swansea City XI visit Twerton Park.
